SAN FRANCISCO, CA., September 27, 2023, LinkedIn has recognized Sparrow as one of this year’s Top Startups in the United States. This is Sparrow’s first time being named to this esteemed list. Earning a spot means that Sparrow has experienced continuous growth, establishing itself as one of the top startups to work at and pay attention to in this difficult macro environment.
To determine the 7th annual LinkedIn Top Startups list, LinkedIn looked at data across four pillars: employee growth, jobseeker interest, member engagement within the company and its employees, and how well these startups pulled talent from their flagship LinkedIn Top Companies list. LinkedIn also prioritized startups that were focused on sustainable growth amid uncertainty.

Sparrow has been fully remote since 2019, and today, the team of 160+ Sparrows spans 30+ states. As it has scaled, the team has designed its communications intentionally. “We ensure that the ways we connect create meaningful interactions that express how we care for each other,” said Diandra Oliveira, Sparrow Director of People Operations. “A few examples include regular fireside chats, all hands, and “Feel Good Fridays,” where everyone on the team is invited to recognize their wins and the support they’ve received from their teammates that week.

As our fully remote team grew to over 160+ members spanning 30+ states in the past year, we created a dedicated space online for Sparrows to connect with nearby Sparrows. This opened the door for more in-person interactions and fun conversations about events happening in their respective states. “It’s been great to see photos of Sparrows meeting each other in real life and making connections outside of work. Building alongside people you enjoy working with makes all the difference,” said Director of People Operations, Diandra Oliveira.
