Megan (she/her) is a member of Sparrow’s Customer Experience team. Let’s get to know Megan!

How did you get to where you are?

Before Sparrow, I worked in higher education in a few different roles related to student growth, leadership, and success. I loved working with students, particularly getting the opportunity to walk them through a unique season of life and empower them in their journey of development and self-discovery. While I loved this work and found it to be incredibly life-giving, I wanted to transition to something with more opportunities for professional growth. I felt stagnant and wanted a role that would stretch me professionally, while still helping people in some capacity. Sparrow was a perfect fit!

What is a fun fact about you?

I played tennis in high school and college. In college, I was one of two Americans on an otherwise international team from all across Europe. They were all far better than me at the sport lol, but I learned a great deal – both on and off the court. I tried my best to retain the bits of Italian, German, Dutch, and Slovak phrases (to name a few) that they taught me, but I remember nothing at this point!

What is your favorite part of working at Sparrow?

I love the people at Sparrow! I am so excited to work with my team every day - we laugh on a regular basis, swap stories, support one another in our work, and empower each other to grow in our roles. I also feel so grateful for the opportunity to work from home, while still feeling connected to a group of people that I enjoy working and growing with.

What are you most excited about for your role in the next 6 months?

My team has been working with a lot of new companies that have recently partnered with Sparrow. I am excited to settle in with these customers, to earn their trust, develop rhythms and routines that ensure success for our goals, and continue developing a thriving, stable team.

What are you doing this weekend?

I have a 4 year old and almost 2 year old. My non-work time pretty much always involves trampoline parks, forts in my living room, superhero time, pretend restaurants, breaking up fights between two little humans, and working very hard to keep them alive. This weekend it will be some combo of those things, likely all. I am constantly tired, but also super grateful.

What are some of your hobbies?

I live in Colorado, and I stereotypically love all things outdoors! We have access to some of the best mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, paddleboarding, and camping you can find. I feel my best when I’m doing any of those activities! If you ever find yourself on the Western slope of the Colorado Rockies, you have to check out the Grand Mesa. It is the largest flat-top mountain in the world, and has over 300 lakes with breathtaking views with amazing opportunities to boat, fish, camp, kayak, hike, etc.

What’s the last show you binge-watched?

I love watching TV, especially quality TV. The last show that was binge-worthy was Silo on Apple TV. It kept me guessing the whole time! I initially tried out the show because it has Rashida Jones, one of my favorite actresses from Parks and Rec. It was fun to see her in such a different role, and I was immediately hooked by the overall mystery of the show.
