D.C. extends its temporary emergency order to prevent deductions by short-term disability insurance providers.

Effective December 1, 2023 through July 13, 2024, D.C. will continue the protection of short-term disability benefits provided by a previous emergency measure, which expired October 24, 2023. This temporary act continues to prevent private disability insurance providers from reducing short-term disability benefits by actual or estimated compensation covered by the District. The restriction applies universally, irrespective of where the policy was issued.
