D.C.'s Short-Term Disability Insurance Benefit Protection Clarification Emergency Amendment Act of 2023 is in effect through
October 24, 2023.


This emergency measure serves to prevent private disability insurance providers from applying deductions to short-term disability benefits, whether they are based on actual or estimated compensation for leave covered by the District. This prohibition applies universally, regardless of the source of the insurance policy.
